My new look

New haircut This recent heat wave we had here drove me over the edge and I ended up looking like this. I haven’t had it this short since the army. It’s so much fun.

Noam - American Idol

Got some video of Noam, so when he goes on American Idol, he can prove that he’s been singing since he was 2.

Eyal Bentzur

Eyal
I would like to announce the arrival of our new baby, Eyal Bentzur. He was born yesterday (6/6/2007) at 6pm and he’s doing just great.

April Fools

I hate the internet on April 1st. Every year it’s the same thing, every other website, blog and internet company feel like they have to take part in this lame game.
I was going through my RSS reader today and after about 10 or 20 stupid “funny” posts that were supposed to fool me, I marked everything as “read” and decided to call it a day. Maybe April 1st should be “take the day off the internet” day.

Anyone hungry?

A post over at John Scalzi’s Blog (worth reading regularly) linking to a recipe got me drooling within seconds. I need to try making this thing. It looks foolproof to me, you can’t you go wrong with bacon, cheese, beer and a hot dog!
Further reading led me to another worthy blog called Bacon Unwrapped. It’s dedicated to spreading highly important fatty and tasty information regarding bacon. I just had to share these pieces of happiness with you guys.

Anyone know a good cardiologist?

The dangers of academic research

Sexy Ankle On Sunday afternoon I was leaving the computer science dept. As I was going down the stairs I continued reading a journal paper (related to me thesis). About 4 stairs from the bottom I misstepped and found myself crashing down to the floor.

It seems my ankle, in its heroic but failed attempt at stopping me from hitting the floor, got sprained. The picture is from Tuesday night and doesn’t it look sexy?

The cool grid pattern is caused by a rubbery pad called a “waffle” that is supposed to apply pressure on the swelling. My foot is getting smaller so it seems to working.

So kids, be careful when it comes to academic research, it’s very dangerous.

Christmas Day Fun

We went up the mountain to have some fun in the snow this Christmas day. Check out the movie!

Daily brush with death

Every morning I have my little dance with death. I take my vitamin pill, put it in my mouth, hold my water cup, take a deep breath and go for it. What comes next is twenty seconds of me choking on the pill. Most times I manage to force it down, but every now and then I have to cough it up and start all over again. Why do they make these pills so big? Or why don’t they split them up into two smaller ones.

Anyway, in some twisted way I like it. It’s a little way of appreciating life every morning over and over again.

And with this re-appreciation of life I want to wish a Merry Christmas and Happy Hanukkah to everyone.

Free hug anyone?

This [tag]free hugs[/tag] movement isn’t new by now and news about it have been around for a while. I just recently saw some Israeli versions of it (here is one example) and the peace twist that they added to it. I find this whole thing captivating. It’s such a simple offer, just a hug with no string attached. I’m sure that there are many people that really need it.

I guess I’m turning into a softy (I really think it started with Noam’s birth). I actually find myself being moved by shmaltzy stuff lately. I may even be close to crying at movies! Still haven’t yet!

Anyway, it’s good to see people do these type of things.
Hug on!

Great quote

I just loved the last sentence from this post over at the OneJerusalem blog.

There is more money being spent on breast implants and Viagra today than on Alzheimer’s research. This means that by 2040, there should be a large elderly population with perky boobs and huge erections and absolutely no recollection of what to do with them.
